We fell in love with this unit so extra care was taken, the MC-40 was stripped down completely and bought back to it's original condition. The electronics were re-built to specifications, all the transistors and capacitors on the pre and amplifier boards were replaced, re-soldered the PCB's, calibrated the tuner PCB. Speaker sockets removed and fitted with new binding posts, 240 volt lead was replaced. The turntable section has been serviced, cleaned, lubed and adjusted, we have also included a new Ortofon OM-10 cartridge. The platter was polished and a new belt fitted. The timber base was in very good condition with no damage, only issue was that some profiles were faded, so we sanded down the base, applied new stain and sealed it with satin varnish. The plastic lid was also in very good condition with fine scratches , so we gave it a good polish. Again we can't find much info on this system, but we have worked out that it's approximately 20 watts per channel.
