Description:
The AU-517 with it's DC power amp boats highly accurate reproduction of all signals (including any kind of musical signal), and it achieves exceptionally high circuit stability. The pre-driver circuitry is so effective in assuring stable performance in the face of temperature and voltage changes that Sansui has registered it with major patent offices around the world.  The subsonic filter attenuates harmful frequencies from 16Hz and below on a 6dB / octave slope, yet keeps musical content intact.
The potentiometer for master volume control is a precision attenuator type with 32 accurately calibrated steps marked in decibels (dB). By a simple calculation you know how much average power you are feeding your speakers.
The AU-517 has full monitoring/recording/dubbing facilities for two stereo tape decks. All play/copy operations can be handled by a trio of switches and a rotary knob, permitting a number of practical uses.

Description of Works:
Replaced all electrolytic capacitors with Nichicon audio premium series.
Upgraded power supply stiffening caps to 15,000mfd (original 12,000mfd ea).
Replaced all small signal transistors.
Replaced all fuse resistors.
All PCB's inspected for dry joints and re-soldered.
Inspect output transistors, replaced mica insulators and heat transfer compound.
Dismantled, cleaned & deoxit all potentiometers and switches.
New upgraded speaker banana binding posts.
Cleaned & detailed unit.
Repainted metal case.
New 240vac power lead.

This superb Sansui AU-517 Integrated Amplifier has been carefully restored with quality Nichicon electrolytic capacitors and the power supply main storage capacitors beefed up to 15,000mfd. All original low signal transistors replaced with better, faster response discretes, serviced circuitry, and upgraded speaker terminals. Its metal case was also repainted with a satin black finish. Condition is excellent, 9.5/10 for appearance.
